Who is Sara, anyway?

10568874_10203423151358199_4535421836965094174_n<——That’s me 🙂 Sara Rossio. After spending fifteen years working desk jobs in the corporate world, I went to massage school and found my life’s passion in massage therapy. I love to help clients reduce their pain and their stress levels. For me, it is a great feeling when I can help someone feel better by the end of a session. I consider myself to be a facilitator who can provide the space for healing, and a little help, support, and encouragement for your body and mind to come back into balance with itself. I also enjoy the creativity involved with doing massage. Each individual is different, so each massage is different, based on what the client needs in that moment.

Since 2010 I have done massage for many different types of clientele, in a variety of environments, including Best of Baltimore wellness centers and spas including a Forbes 4-star spa, and local private practices. I have worked for and alongside highly experienced therapists who have shared their knowledge with me, and I have done extensive additional trainings in massage techniques and energy work, including Myofascial Release Massage, Integrative Reflexology, Reiki and Quantum-Touch. In 2013, I opened my private practice, Sarapeutic Massage and Wellness, in the Mt. Washington area of Baltimore. My space is within the Tranquili-Chi Center, a group of practitioners who together form a “health and wellness center based on holistic and energetic approaches to the whole person.” It is a beautiful and healing space with great people who practice myriad therapies.

Speaking of energy work… Another part of the holistic healing world that I absolutely love is energy work. About a year after I became licensed to do massage, I discovered Reiki energy healing, and a couple years later I found Quantum-Touch. Both are amazing in their own right, but also work beautifully with massage. I am currently a Reiki Level II Practitioner, and a Quantum-Touch Practitioner (Level one certified). Energy work can help to balance you mentally and emotionally, as well as providing relief of pain. I also have had and have witnessed profound spiritual experiences both giving and receiving energy work.

When your work is your passion, it’s an interesting project to find “work/life balance”. So instead of saying “in my spare time”, I will say that my other passions include reading, spending time with my family and friends, and pursuing all kinds of creative adventures. I love listening to music, walking (especially in the woods), riding bikes, and lifting weights.
